Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2024
Overview
Picforge ("we", "us") provides free, browser-based image tools. This policy explains what happens to your data when you use this website.
Local Processing — Your Images Never Leave Your Device
This is the most important part. Every tool on Picforge runs entirely inside your web browser using JavaScript and the HTML5 Canvas API. Your images are never uploaded to any server, are never sent over the network, and are never stored by us. The image processing happens locally on the device you are using.
Because your images do not leave your device, we have no technical ability to view, copy, share, or sell them. We do not retain any copies of your images, even temporarily.
Data We Do Collect
We may collect limited, non-personal technical data through standard web technologies, including:
- Pages visited and basic usage statistics (via privacy-friendly analytics, if enabled),
- Browser type, language preference, and general region (derived from your IP address by our hosting provider),
- Cookies set by third-party services (see below).
This data cannot be used to identify you personally and is not combined with your images.
Cookies and Third-Party Services
Picforge itself does not require cookies to function. However, we may display advertisements served by Google AdSense or other advertising partners. These third parties may use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising through your browser settings or at aboutads.info/choices.
We also use standard web server logs for security and operational purposes. These logs are retained for a limited period.
Children's Privacy
Our service is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
International Users (GDPR / CCPA)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the UK, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to access, rectify, or erase your personal data, and to object to processing. Because we do not collect or store your images or meaningful personal data, these rights are largely not applicable to your use of the tools themselves. For any data collected via analytics or advertising, you may contact us to exercise your rights.
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) provides similar rights regarding personal information collected by third-party advertisers on our site.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
